Breakfast options left a lot to be desired. the dining area felt cramped, with cutlery from previous guests lingering on tables too long. The food selection wasn't refreshed often, so arriving early might still mean choosing from leftovers. Also, while the laundry facilities were useful, the drying function of the washer/dryer combo didn't work well, making air drying in the room a better option.

Amazing hotel experience! The staff provided exceptional service. Mark went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. We had a family stay for 3 nights in the Superior Twin Room, which was clean and well-maintained. The electric kettle and laundry service were convenient. The location made exploring Kyoto easy, being close to transport and attractions. However, the air conditioning was a bit of an issue. it only provided warm air whether set to heat or fan. This made it uncomfortable at times, especially when trying to cool the room at night. Despite that, I loved that the staff helped us with a room humidifier to alleviate the dry air from the heaters. I would return on my next trip for sure!

My stay was frustrating right from the start. I had issues with the air conditioning being stuck in heating mode, which made sleeping uncomfortable. Additionally, the breakfast was a disappointment, with limited options and a lack of replenishment when things ran out. To top it off, the rooms were not soundproofed at all—every late-night noise from the street echoed into the room, making it hard to get any sleep.

The Travelodge Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi offers a convenient location on the main business street, making it easy to access transport options and nearby shopping. My standard single room was small but practical, featuring a comfortable bed. The lobby staff were commendable, managing the crowds efficiently during check-in and check-out. Additionally, the simplicity of the breakfast options provided a quick start to the day.

I really enjoyed my stay. the room was cozy and had a great shower that made relaxing after a long day easy. They also had a nice little lounge area and a cool vending machine with snacks. The only bump was the Wi-Fi being a bit slow at times, but overall, I’d definitely come back! 😊

I loved how easy it was to stroll to nearby Nishiki Market and Yasaka Shrine, making my city explorations so enjoyable. The hotel was a great value for money with its clean, modern rooms and friendly staff.

the travelodge kyoto shijo kawaramachi is in a great spot, making it super easy to hop on local buses or trains. nishiki market is just a quick 5-minute walk away, and there's plenty of shopping and dining nearby. i really appreciated the washer dryer in the lobby area—definitely a bonus for a solo traveler.
